The everyday life of an independent translator

What is everyday life like for a freelance translator ?

Spoiler : it is not all about translating texts all day long !

Here are a few examples of the different tasks I perform on a daily basis :

  • Manage emails, quotes, customers (and sometimes call again).

  • Refine my communication on the networks.

  • Do research for each project.

  • Deal with a variety of subjects (legal in the morning, tourism in the afternoon!).

  • Prepare English lessons for my students.

  • And of course, translate with precision and love.

In short, being a freelance translator means being a linguist, but also an entrepreneur, a manager, a communication manager... There is never a dull moment !

If you want to know more about the life of a translator in France and translation in general, stay tuned!
